Massena Neighborhood Mission Hub
In May 2025, Massena FUMC was designated as a Neighborhood Mission Hub by the Upper New York Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. Neighborhood Mission Hubs are designed to help communities prepare for, and respond to both natural and human-caused disasters. These Hubs provide disaster-related education and training opportunities, assemble and store UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) cleaning and hygiene kits, and work closely with local community organizations active in disaster (COAD’s) to mount a coordinated response. They are a tangible expression of God’s healing power amid despair.
Thanks to the donations, support and hard work of our eleven partner churches and community organizations, the Massena Neighborhood Mission Hub has achieved a working level of supplies and is ready to answer the call for disaster response. Anyone interested in becoming involved in, or learning more about the Hub is encouraged to contact the Hub Coordinator, Kate Connor, at www.missionhub.massena@gmail.com

Early Response Team
GOD calls us to help provide Hope, Reassurance and Assistance to those in need. The mission of an Early Response Team is to provide a caring Christian presence in the aftermath of a disaster.
Many members of our congregation have completed UMCOR certification training to become recognized as Early Response Team providers.

UMCOR is the international and domestic relief organization of the United Methodist Church and they are often one of the first responders on the ground following a disaster. 100% of all donations made to UMCOR go toward serving people in need following a disaster.
Here's how you can help!
1. Pray for our world!
2. Make a monetary donation to UMCOR or the Massena Neighborhood Mission Hub.
3. Collect items listed below on the kit content lists and drop them off at Massena FUMC, 189 Main St. Massena. These donations will be held until such time we are contacted by UMCOR, or local authorities, to provide relief to an area affected by disaster. The collections are for Cleaning Buckets, Hygiene Kits and Menstrual Hygiene Kits. More information can be found here.
